The Rescue
Buster was hours from euthanasia at a county shelter when Care Group of Ohio stepped in. A 94-pound Staffordshire terrier with an unknown past, he had been passed over again and again.
In the loud, stressful environment of the shelter, no one saw past the muscular frame and the weight of breed stigma. They didn't see the gentle soul waiting behind the bars. Care Group did. We saw a dog who just needed a chance to prove that he belonged.

The Walls He Broke Through
What Buster's rescuers didn't know was how deep his trauma ran. Left alone, his separation anxiety was catastrophic. He didn't just whine or bark; he fought for his life to get back to his people.
He tore through drywall, splintered a solid wood door, and left destruction that told a story of sheer terror. This wasn't a "bad dog." There were no quick fixes. The team built a new world around Buster — a world defined by routine, predictability, and unwavering consistency.

Today, Buster's separation anxiety is largely resolved. What remains is a dog who simply adores human connection. He lives for his daily walks — though at 94 pounds, he requires a firm hand on the leash.
Car rides are his favorite; he'll sit proudly with his head out the window, taking in the world with wide-eyed wonder. He craves physical affection: a hand on his head, a spot on the couch beside you, the simple reassurance that he belongs.
Socially, he's a gentleman but he knows his mind. He does well with calm, confident dogs but can be selective with high-energy or dominant personalities. He's a dog who values peace as much as he values play.
The Next Chapter
Buster's unknown past will always be a mystery, but his future doesn't have to be. He is living proof that rehabilitation works — that patience, consistency, and love can undo what abandonment did.
